More Trip Information

Reminders for this weekend:

You might want to go to Walmart and get your child one of those cheap ponchos.

In the unlikely case of Severe Weather Friday Night/Saturday Morning: We are planning on going on the trip regardless. We have already spent the money on the busses and may have to leave late and miss the festival, but we are going to Six Flags regardless. We will be here at the school Saturday morning at 3:30 and will try to update the webpage with any adjustment in plans.

Trip Reminders

1. Food – everyone will receive a meal ticket for lunch and dinner. You will need to bring something to eat for breakfast. I also recommend that you have some other snacks on the bus for the ride to six Flags or the ride home.

2. Money: meals and admission to the park is included in the trip package. You will only need extra money if you want to buy souvenirs and other food in the park.

3. Arrive wearing your white button down shirt, black pants, black socks, and black shoes. Have your bow tie on the bus so you can have it on when you get off the bus for the competition. We will get off the bus and go straight in to the competition. THERE WILL BE NO TIME TO CHANGE BEFORE WE PERFORM. I also recommend wearing something under your uniform so that you can change on the bus after the competition.

4. Put your name on all your belongings.

5. Bring one carry-on bag for the bus. Pack clothes to change into after we perform and a change of dry or fresh clothes for the ride home.

6. You may bring personal music players and games IF you use headphones. People will be trying to sleep!

7. You will need a pillow and blanket for the ride to and from Atlanta. Many people will want to get some rest on the ride to Atlanta. The busses can get very cold, so be prepared. (one blanket per person).

8. Bring G rated movies for the bus ride.

9. Cell phones will be allowed. Do not bring them into the competition.

10. YOU are responsible for loading AND unloading YOUR instrument.

11. Medication- If your child takes regular medication, please put the medication in a zip lock bag with instructions and give it to Mr. Thompson in the morning before we leave. I need written permission before I administer and medication.

12. Students will be expected to behave in a mature, polite, and courteous manner at all times.

13. On the bus ride you should have respect for other people on the bus. Your main concern is to make sure everyone has an enjoyable and comfortable trip to and from Atlanta.

14. Chaperones are to be obeyed willingly. They will have authority, or trips like this would not be possible.

15. While at the Park:

a. Stay clear of students not in our group. They may not be observing a standard of organization and behavior compatible with our own.

b. Keep your money in different places: Pockets, socks, etc.

c. Behave and represent your band , school, and community with pride.

d. If you choose to break the law and get caught, (smoke, shoplift, etc.) your parents will have to come to Atlanta and get you out of jail.

16. Stay with your group at all times. Any student found separated from their group will be assigned to a chaperone for the rest of the day.

17. You are expected to exercise extreme discretion in your casual dress. Do not wear shabby, sloppy, ragged, or dirty clothes. Also, be conservative in the amount of your body you expose. No bare feet.

18. Do not encumber your band directors with stupid questions, trivial complaints, or meaningless suggestions. If you have questions, consult your trip information and itinerary first, then a chaperone. Come to a director only as a last resort.

19. All school rules will apply during the entire trip. Any behavior problems will be addressed through the administration when we return home.

20. Be prepared to have a great time!!!
